The history of Viveros Hernandorena’s achievements have come about thanks to a management that has known how to value the quality of its human team, and work with them on values such as companionship a good working environment and stability. One of the key parts of its business success is its human team . It is currently made up of more than 40 workers, which during peak season reaches 70 people. It is a young group within the agri food sector, multidisciplinary, of different nationalities and with gender equality.
The company’s management and its Human Resources department, headed by Antonio López, worsk every day to achieve a productive team with optimum performance and qu ality. “In the end, we are looking for workers who are committed and involved in carrying out professional and, above all, quality work. And this is where our leadership position in the nursery segment lies”, says
Antonio López, Director of the HR Departme nt. To achieve this productivity and high quality, the human resources team are centred around our three pillars: companionship, a good working environment and stability.
Viveros Hernandorena encourages teamwork , being aware that every employee has streng ths and areas for improvement. That allows the creation of synergies, where the strengths of some are used to mitigate the weaknesses of others. “What we aim for is for everyone to be productive individually, but above all productive as a team, because the achievements of the team are due to
the work of everyone”, says Antonio López.
With regard to a good working environment, the aim of this incubator is to achieve maximum happiness at work for the employee within the company. In this sense, through an Annu al Work Satisfaction Survey and even through daily contact with the staff, Viveros Hernandorena is aware of the work needs of its entire team, which depends a lot on the vital moment of each one of them.
Thus, measures have been implemented at the request of the employees themselves, such as a continuous morning working day in summer, motorised trolleys for transporting plants, improvements in tools… “We want to be the best employment option for our team, and for this reason, we are an active company in t erms of feedback from our workers”.
And finally, stability , which is closely linked to a good working environment and which is vital for the specialisation required in nursery work. “It is very important to us that our workers find what they need at Vivero s Hernandorena. In this sense, we offer attractive remuneration plans, financially and emotionally, with the possibility of career development and external training”, explains Antonio López, adding that in the short term they will implement an interna l training plan, complementary to the external one, so that more experienced technicians can train new employees or workers from other areas in very specific subjects.
In addition, Viveros Hernandorena has signed agreements with Training Centres and even Universities, not only to receive visits from students, but also to host Erasmus programmes. Nowadays, Viveros Hernandorena is a first class nursery, a reference in the production of persimmon, almond and stone fruit plants, and all this is thanks to its h uman team, to whom it listens by implementing actions to continue building new successes.
