1. Vegetative characteristics.
Vigorous variety with a semi-erect bearing and only female flowers. Wide oval shaped buds, whose average budding date is on March 17th (-5 days compared to ‘Bright Red’). Broad elliptical leaves, with a blunt, rounded base and an acuminate apex. Their average length and width are 14,52 cm and 9,50 cm respectively (length/width ratio: 1,53).
2. Flowering.
Average date of full blossoming is on 30th April (-5 days compared to ‘Bright Red’). The flowers have a corolla with an average diameter of 19,71 mm, with four lobes and a regular cruciform calyx.
3. Characteristics of the fruit.
According to the type of astringency at the time of commercial ripening, it is a PVA type variety. Average date of commercial ripening on 23rd September (-36 days compared to ‘Bright Red’), average date of physiological ripening on 8th November (-57 days compared to ‘Bright Red’). Average fruit weight 183.22 g, average size 75.25 mm, length/width ratio 0.62. Flattened fruit, square cross section. In its longitudinal section the apex is truncated, with a moderate groove in it, without concentric cracking around it. It shows no cracking of the apex area. Longitudinal groove absent or very superficial. The calyx is slightly depressed, without groove and without cracking at its end. The size of the calyx in relation to the diameter of the fruit is medium and its bearing is semi-erect. At commercial ripening the skin colour is orange and the flesh is yellowish orange.
