1. Vegetative characteristics.
Vigorous variety with a semi-erect standing and only female flowers. Wide oval shaped buds, whose average budding date is April 4th (+13 days compared to ‘Bright Red’). The leaves are broad elliptical in shape, with a wide acute base and an acuminate apex. Their average length and width are 19.30 cm and 10.49 cm, respectively (length/width ratio: 1.85).
2. Flowering.
Its average date of full blossoming is on May 9th (+4 days compared to ‘Bright Red’). The flowers have a corolla with an average diameter of 17.93 mm, generally with four lobes, although they also have flowers with more than four, and a regular cruciform calyx.
3. Characteristics of the fruit.
According to the type of astringency at the moment of commercial ripening, it is a variety of PCNA type. Average date of commercial ripening on October 27th (-2 days compared to ‘Bright Red’), average date of physiological ripening on November 28th (-37 days compared to ‘Bright Red’). Average fruit weight 412,65 g, average size 97,52 mm, length/width ratio 0,75. Very wide oval fruit, with irregular rounded cross-section. In its longitudinal section the apex is retuse. Moderated grooving of the apex, without concentric cracking around it or cracking of the area of the same apex. Deep longitudinal groove. The calyx is strongly depressed, with no groove at its end, but with a strong crack at its end. The size of the calyx in relation to the diameter of the fruit is medium and its bearing is semi-erect. At commercial ripening both the skin and the flesh are yellowish orange.
